Official: Russia to harvest 140 mln tns of grain in 2023
ULANBAATAR, Oct 24 (PRIME) -- Russia will harvest about 140 million tonnes of grain in 2023, the second largest yield after a bumper crop of 2022, Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko said on Tuesday.
"As far as I know, 137 million tonnes of grain has been harvested as of this date, about 90 (million tonnes) of wheat… It will be a second record. Last year we had 158 million tonnes, this year we think about 140 million tonnes," Abramchenko said.
The official confirmed the export potential in the 2023–2024 agricultural year, starting July 1, 2023 and lasting until June 30, 2024, at 60 million tonnes of grain. "In general, we will confidently rank the world’s first by wheat exports," the official said.
According to Abramchenko, no conditions had been met to resume negotiations on the Black Sea grain deal and exports its products via different channels.
